The recent increase in the number of road accidents in the country is due to the negligence and mismanagement of the government, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said.

“Currently, road accidents have taken a terrible form. The level of road accidents has increased due to mismanagement and negligence of the government,” he said in a statement issued over the death of 13 people, including 4 members of the same family, in a head-on collision between a bus and a pickup van in Dignagar Tentultala area of Faridpur Sadar on the Dhaka-Khulna highway on Tuesday (16 April).

The BNP secretary general also expressed deep grief over the accident.

In the statement, he expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and expressed deep concern over the loss of lives in such accidents across the country.
