Vested quarters both inside the country and from abroad are trying to topple the democratically elected government of Bangladesh, said Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

“We have been noticing the plot of vested quarters inside the country and also from abroad to oust the elected for a long time,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at an event organised by AL’s publicity and publication sub-committee at the party’s central office on Tuesday (23 April).

“Even though the election process was transparent and the voter turnout was satisfactory, some local and foreign circles continue to spread propaganda and lies,” he added.

Obaidul Quader said, “We all have to build a united resistance against the evil forces against democracy, peace and development. We must unite to resist them.”

AL believes that people are the source of all power., Quader said, adding, “Sheikh Hasina came to power and stopped the politics of killing.”
