Gold price rises by Tk4,502 per bhori

BAJUS adjusted the price of the precious metal upward on Tuesday citing an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) raised the price of 22-carat gold by Tk4,502 per bhori, making it now Tk115,450 per bhori.

The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of BAJUS adjusted the price of the precious metal upward on Tuesday (7 May), citing an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.

With the new rates effective from Wednesday (8 May), the price of 21-carat and 18-carat gold rose to Tk1,10,201 and Tk94,445 per bhori, respectively.

The traditional gold price has been set at Tk78,090.

Earlier, the price of gold dropped for the consecutive eighth time, where each carat of top-quality gold came to Tk1,09,163.

Later, it was increased to Tk6,287 in three stages.
